…the elusive setting sun

15 But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one.
16 For “who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:15,16

We who are sanctified can see. We see the things of the world. We have the ability to discern all of the things that are fruitful to the world within an ungodly worldview. We are separate and “hidden” in Christ Jesus and can know through the power of our Lord the ways of man who is yet standing in plain site of his fellow man. Both agree to see within their rationalization and relative truth of the world but refuse to agree with God in all things of the Spirit. In darkness, without light, there is only darkness and in that darkness, we can only surmise a clarity. We can only try to concoct a clear path, groping and clumsily feeling our way through our life. With a Light in that darkness, all is clear as the darkness cannot exist.

It is not arrogance. It is truth. We can see the ways of ungodly man. We have experienced that method of a walk toward something of hope that keeps escaping our grasp over the horizon.  It is like try to walk into the setting sun. The aspect and sight of our hope is an illusion. This illusion eludes man. Then when he seemingly catches his hope, it falls through his fingers like grains of fine sand. We see these things.

We are of a solid hope and in the arms of God are secure and protected from illusion and eluding hope. We can see out but the ungodly spirit of man cannot see in.

So, we have compassion for this man. We can feel “with” him because we too have once felt his angst and hopelessness. Be the light that emanates in his hopeless darkness. The world cannot discern the things of the Spirit but we who are sanctified can discern the ways of worldly spirit. We should not be confounded when we see the outcome of what is produced in an ungodly world. Man’s god is as far as his own thoughts which are finite and fleeting. Dark and hopeless. Enthusiasm and philanthropy toward fellow man are good but not eternal and serve but for a moment.

Serve the things of the Spirit. Do not judge but see. It is understanding that we have from God who sent His only Son of virgin birth to die for us. There cannot be many paths. Only many rationalizations and justifications. Believe God.

If we are of the Lord as He abides in us, who may know the things of God. We, ourselves, learn daily new things for which He prepares for us. Those who are not of the Spirit chase illusion. It is hopeless. Be a beacon of hope and love the unloved. Give hope through your actions that are far greater than philanthropy. God’s hope waxes eternal, emanating joy and love. We project the image of God into the downcast gaze of the man who is lost. Be his hope as God is ours. We serve God for this purpose. It is the commandment of Jesus to love. So, Love. Love will not elude. The setting sun projects but an illusion.
