inner man

new inner man.
child upon lightness;
sheltered from darkness.
away! amber delay.
fear to One,
find my way.

greater will

Childe Hassam

I wonder in color,
dream in vivid hue.
count blessings on hands and feet,
awaken amid waxing blue

The days ever so bitter,
the time ever so lost.
all safely tucked away now,
forgotten tattered and tossed.

Optism is the brighter way,
joy is better still.
when hope and trust in greater things,
are resting in Father’s will.

winter born on fragile brown
wondering heartbeats make no sound
save promise whispering in cold recline
O hopeful promise soon be mine

still azure

the kindness I seek
Is deep within your eyes.
a gentle smile so warm
like still azure skies.
i reach out to feel
the strength in your hand
confiding outward trust
I cannot understand.
the faith that is gained
in a vessel hard-pressed
promises love eternal
in surreal breaths of rest.

Paul Klee Blue

Attesting to what I cannot see
knowing what I can truly be
seeing inside with purity’s eyes
refreshing splash of bluer skies
avoiding moments surely contrived
feeling I have nearly arrived.

a pilgrim’s rest

I think about Autumn
that haggard face at night
the light that ushers in another time
and softens all of my might.

I wonder what life beyond brings
adventure in ocherous hues
resting soul shall embrace this time
sky’s color shift from blues.

The Lord’s present glory is nigh
I pause for one last thought
to cross the Jordan to my rest
a pilgrim’s end thus sought.

Alas the trials of a day
preclude this hasty feat
as precious joy arises now
and delays the Mercy seat.

I wonder then, what life should bring
in orange and tangerine
more time for faith to build upon
a godly life serene.

His hands

Mary Cassatt Sisters

Mary Cassatt “Sisters”

Silent hands hold me
In darkness, light obstructs fear
I know divine joy.
