lovely and true

grove of trees -Renoir

grove of trees Renoir

peace comes in drops of rain
light piercing in prismatic plane
with hopeful glances far above
He is near and cradles in love

when do we fill the gap of vanity
and overflow like tourmaline sea?
i ponder inward and see my flaw
knowing God’s restoration in awe

renewal waxes in unfurling leaf
soft green waves silent absence brief
my Creator will not leave my aching heart
He is watchful and shall never part

I hope someday I will see
into myself amber lens free
to see the possibilty of finding anew
what God has always seen lovely and true.

For now
we see through a glass, darkly;
but then face to face:
now I know in part;
but then shall I know
even as also I am known.

1 Corinthians 13:12 KJV

How I long to
See deeper into
My soul
To understand
How God sees me
And you.

Would I then
Learn to love
Even more
As I see
the depth of
His love?

in passages

“Valery-sur-Somme” Artist: Degas

there are passages we traipse through
where lessons are learned
even in impossible darkness
interrupted by a lucid glimmer of hope.

a page is turned in a book of life
with trials passing by lying on my back
on green leas with you
and cloudless days with endless azure.

looking through a glass darkly
here i know change leads to clarity and
in clarity is the face of God where
I shall see myself as He has always seen me.
How romantic are words of Life
akin with warm spring sun
on my skin.

O love how you bind when
compassion holds sway
and harmonic measures with
melody flawless in times precious
Our hands are clasped in this.

The sound of a stream pouring
busily overs smooth rocks
emitting cool mist and a lullaby
of gentle sounds from which within
many voices can be deciphered
declaring all of cherished
voices and remembered songs.

I miss times of old
I hope to replay some of them
in reflective memory
and to dream of things to come.

tears of joy are the elixir
from tepid days in apathy
forgotten now in passages
to a new life now and forever.

forlorn

Maid Sitting in the Garden at Eragny Artist: Camille Pissarro

Maid Sitting in the Garden at Eragny
Artist: Camille Pissarro

Your oversight of precious worth
Sustaining life apart from mirth
Blind to glances of loving care
Leaving lost senses unaware

Despair’s song the mourning dove sings
You were meant to hear such things
Shadows hide the sunlit glare
In hidden darkness a lifeless lair

But O, the mist of early rain
A calming tear is cry’s refrain
And I look into inviting eyes wide
Into your soul readiness implied

When will you see a clear reflection
From glassy pool receive affection
It is not your emptiness that looks at me
‘Tis abiding Spirit who rests in thee.

i dreamed

Van Gogh

Van Gogh

i dreamed about vast grandeur,
an eternal unfolding sky.
endless, enveloping, seeming
where old things go to die.

i dreamed of far bright lights
upon a darkened sullen gray
following, following, now ever closer
i choose to run away.

I dreamed of green, lighted fields
the ones inviting so
severing, severing my earthly ties
now begging me to go.

I dreamed of pale, wrinkled hands
writhing, wringing, singing sorrow.
endeavouring a desperate promise
of all things better tomorrow.

I dreamed of a brilliant light
beautifully adorned, ’twas He
revering all goodness eternal
His hand outstretched for me.

firefly

lights
dark and frail
gray hanging on to
a bit of white
lest a black demise.
overcast skies absorbing
what sunlight it can
waiting for night
and equanimity of hue.
pinpoint light hidden
well within my soul
shrouded in clouds
screams to be heard
playing with the thought
that even a firefly
can be a lantern
in his small domain…
can I?

But He knows the way that I take;
When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold.

Job 23:10

O that I should look upon the past
Still salvaging  pieces of things You will outlast
Gripping struggles gone long ago
Greener pastures, whiter snow.

But what is this pain inside my core?
A reminder! Espy the Light on distant shore.
For upon Your path I surely go,
Greener pastures, whiter snow.

For You Lord know the way for me
As you bend and mold my image toward Thee.
And sometimes it hurts, this refining show.
Greener pastures, whiter snow.

Shadows hide the eyes of Peace.
Through them I fumble fears increase.
But, forward, faithful, effortless flow.
Greener pastures, whiter snow.

Greener pastures, whiter snow.
A promise that to Thou I surely go.
And sit upon a rock, or tuft of grass,
I did doubt a little though, I sigh alas.

To the depths of Your heart I seek,
Traverse graven valleys, mountain peak.
The promise when I am feeling low,
Greener pastures, whiter snow.

O that Your thoughts would be e’er for me.
I dash all fears upon the sea.
Now looking forward seeds to sow,
Greener pastures, whiter snow.
