Regarding a Fowl

“He shall cover you with His feathers,
And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and buckler”
Psalm 91:4 (NKJV)

“By natural instinct she not only protects them, but calls them under that protection when she sees them in danger, not only keeps them safe, but cherishes them and keeps them warm.”  Matthew Henry – regarding a fowl.

Covering is ours indicating protection
Feathers defining His compassionate selection
Refuge is our fortress, our safety, our Rock
Truth being the pinnacle of our focus, the key to unlock
Shield is this truth fortified ’tis true
Buckler shall stand just as our shield shall too

God beckons us in a way that shows His deep care
And we come to Him when we are aware
Of danger thrown by the enemy’s sling
And God’s truth is His steadfast wing
This truth is His Word and impenetrable it is
But within the truth is soft down bliss.

So with the first sign of the enemy’s attack,
The Lord shouts our return to Him: Come back!
We learn to recognize these times aware
Of His presence and care
Thus is our anthem as a believer we ne’er flail
With our eyes ever seeking, His promises ne’er fail.

Concerning a Seed

Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; Romans 1: 3 (KJV)

Concerning a Seed upon the ground
Tilled into soil all warmth surround
Consider how it may grasp from me
Endless thoughts of eternity

Concerning the Seed first long ago
Bleating lambs, cow’s sorrowful low
Consider how the path of all thing are
One night, one star, One from afar

Concerning a Seed from a bed of soil
Sprouts a root anointed in oil
Consider His walk, long, narrow
To showeth hope through adorned sparrow

Concerning a person, me and you
Immersing, crying, seeing Him anew
Consider His influence, truth and fear
Reverence now to hearts so dear.

Seek all ye Jesus our Saviour e’er more
Placing love firmly at our soul’s door
Consider how we shall act in return
Concerning a Seed love’s lesson to learn.

I pray true love will come for you.

Guardian love will never cease

Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
1 John 4:11 (KJV)

The children of the world see in purity. Innocence abounds with cares untarnished with an outlook to green fields and cool pools of water. Bare feet and sweet laughter. There is reflection from the water. Safety and security peer back at the face of a child who looks now into the water rippling from a tossed stone. He looks thus into God’s eyes.

…and the eyes of God peer back with guardian love

The young men of the world see in optimism. Carefree and bold, conquering and fearless. Hearts in love and paths to cut through generations past. “It is mine!” He claims all as his own. He finds green fields as a respite for which to traverse to his next challenge. Fording deep pools taking a moment to peer at his reflection. “Who am I that claims all as my own?” The Lord allows as a Father who waits, watches.

…and the eyes of God peer back with guardian love

The old men of the world see in wisdom of time and age. Careful and aware not to succumb to moments of cynicism. “Where is the optimism of my youth and the fearlessness of days passed?” He sees green fields and stops to rest. A sip in the pool of water taking a brief glance at his reflection. Time passed so quickly. He shakes his head.  The Lord sees him and now smiles to see His Son carry his returned child.

…and the eyes of God peer back with guardian love

So, we love as we are loved.
Compassion born from He above.
Quench not the thirst of youth
And the frolic of childish truth.
For wisdom comes from reverence
The eyes of God are not suspense.
But rather, in all times we reflect,
God’s eyes circumspect.
Love piercing all hearts
From One that shall never part.
We all savor this moment of peace
Guardian love will never cease.

…be quiet and breathe

5 Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Phi 4:5-7 (NKJV)

Here are many guidelines for our life in Christ whose voice flows through Paul to the Philippians and onward to us. Blessed is the Word of God Who is eternal. For His breathed text will stand the test of time and will be our foundation, our guidance, and our wisdom. It is personified in Jesus Christ, the true Word.

  • Be gentle
  • Be not anxious
  • Be prayerful
  • Search God with your questions
  • Be thankful

This is how we live today. The world is confounded by the presence of the Living God because the world is in loathsome darkness. We are the saints that reflect and emanate the true light, the Light who is Jesus. He takes away the sin of the world and listen: is a light that exposes all that is in the darkness. He is the foundation where we build our lives. He is the Lamb of God and by its very nature, a lamb is gentle and compliments a  peaceful pastoral setting. In this peace, we are in a relationship of clarity with God. Our gentleness has a calming effect on those who see us. Is this not where we would choose to be? We can sway and swerve in a confounding world or we can take a moment of refuge in His gentleness in this pastoral setting.

Be calm and rest. Meditate on the Lord and see how He leads today. He is inspiring and in this inspiration, we are joyous. Our gentleness is a sign of God’s peace in us that surpasses the cacophony of the world.

Be quiet and breathe. Call upon the Lord for He is at hand. O the magnitude of joy in His presence. There is no one like our God! No statement is truer. In His peace, there is no room for anxiety for His gentle hand is on our head and He says we are His and He loves us.

Be sincere and persevere in your relationship with God. Jesus came and we followed. He leads us to the Father and He is our heavenly Advocate. Ask God in submission, in gentleness, and in a calmness that closes the door in your mind to repetitious thoughts that invade to steal your sanctuary in the Lord.

Be in love with Jesus who will bring joy. My heart swells. I am happy.

the Lamb of God…

The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. …John1:29

‘Behold’ by definition ‘…something that should not be neglected by the listener’…..I imagine the greatness of beholding the sight of Jesus. We can hold that image close to our hearts today as He is always with us-we can pray and talk to Him at will, and in our hearts know His great sacrifice for us through God’s grace.
Are we truly submitted to Him?

I pray to know Him better every day and God reveals! Jesus is Love manifested in the flesh – He is God’s immense love for us and as a lamb was sacrificed for temporary atonement, the Lamb is sacrificed for our eternal atonement. We submit to Him. He is our Advocate to the Father. When considering God’s love, consider how immense Jesus’ sacrifice was. He died for our sins. We do not own the ability to come to God without the purified, atonement from sin through Jesus. To know this is to begin to know how big God is. Every person has this gift of grace – one drop of our Saviour’s blood purifies all who come to Him and shed their old skin and adorn themselves as followers of Jesus Christ. He is truly our Love and the manifestation of God’s love for us.
