…fearing the Lord

12 Who is the man that fears the LORD? Psalm 25

Who is this man that fears the Lord? Is he one who fears retribution for his evil doings and thoughts? Or is he one with the respect of something or someone larger than his minuscule ego?

In Proverbs it reads: 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.”

In Proverbs it reads: “1:13 The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.”

Therefore, God tells us what fear in Him produces and He tells us what ‘fear’ is. He defines fear so that we will know and not surmise that to fear is to be afraid. It is the beginning of wisdom: our path to a godly character. It is to be in agreement with God and hate darkness. This is our relationship with God. He will lead us and He will teach us.

Fearing Him is to agree with Him, and hate evil. It the one who does not know God who is afraid, it is we who know Him that can be assured that our reverence toward Him and our agreement with Him has put us on a path to a godly character. It is our path that He perfects. I am that man who fears the Lord. Are you that person as well?
