We step along a stony path
To reach the setting Sun.
We come across Satan’s wrath
But passed him to One we run.
And we know it is the Lord our God
The seas may sway the rudderless
In times we feel dismay.
But in our heart we must confess
The One, and only Way.
And we know it is the Lord our God.
Then through fires of ember bright
Discomfort and wretched word.
We stave off the arrowed fight
With the One Whom we have heard.
And we know it is the Lord our God.
So we enter a valley of greener grass,
The still waters we see.
Deep and comforting are His eyes
The One who carries thee.
And we know it is the Lord our God.
Comfort reigns and peaceful bliss
The love of Jesus abounding
His gentle love protecting this-
Vessel by the One surrounding.
And we know it is the Lord our God.
