The Stars and Darkness

That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;

Ephesians 3:16

I look to the sky and see sparkling specks of light. All is endless as the black sky forgives all thought. The emptiness absorbs anxiousness purely by distraction. But, I attest the dark sky does not forgive. It only hides our ill thoughts as the night swallows all we cast to it. Unfortunately,  it saves all we give for later days to be returned to us. The night is outward, the stars too. There is only a sense of being lost there, there is no shelter or warmth of comfort. The night is a cold place with little fireplaces, embers bright but too far away to offer me shelter.

Is this not where God is? Heaven? I seek God’s eyes and the blinking lights of billions of  mirages look back. Heaven is where God is upon His mighty throne:

Take my will, and make it Thine;
It shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart; it is Thine own;
It shall be Thy royal throne,

 Frances Ridley Havergal (1836-1879)

Embrace the word of God for it is truth and wisdom. Leave for a moment the vision cast so many times and so many ways of what and where heaven and God are. Speculation is aimless and fruitless. It is a waste of time succumbing to our own invention.  God has a message for me and it is this: I Am with you. In my submission to Jesus a miracle happens. I am blessed with a Spirit to abide in my cavernous heart.

Fill my heart O Lord. Make it Yours. Sit upon Your throne in my heart. Guide me. Help me. Amen.

My heart and soul are my inner man. It is here where I should look to see the face of God. For I am strengthened not just to see further across galaxies, but to see with keener insight and wisdom into the mystery of a residing God.

May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;

Ephesians 3:18

The eternal face of God and His mystery for me to see. I look into my heart and I search over and around for His inclining ear. I am eager to commune in love and partake in the mystery and wisdom from a loving Father. He enables me to comprehend that which is infinite. It seems like a paradox. To seek eternity should I not look upon the infinite? No. To realize eternity, I must look inside my heart where God has fortified vision, comprehension, and expectation of eternal wisdom. Let me see all of it.

To bridge the gap between my outward perspective and inner searching for the face of God and a glimpse of eternity, is the Spirit who leads. He teaches and fortifies methods. He brings me to my knees in a quiet place:

“I come into this quiet sanctuary it is empty but I find You here…”

Julie Bernstein, ‘Sanctuary’ – Out of the Deep

Yes there is a place that is quiet and where a peace pervades. It is on my knees with my eyes closed. This position of prayer is the method the Spirit tells me is best. I come to the Father on my knees without distraction and vulnerable. Vulnerable and humble. When I open myself in humility, I am vulnerable and it is in this vulnerability that I demonstrate that I have full trust in the Lord. For I shall not fear outside influence when I am in this place. God meets me here. I put my trust in the Lord to ask for abundance and be given in excess:

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Ephesians 3:20

His word is what I need, now. I am fortified, comprehending, and trusting in the God of all eternity. The stars edge closer, almost timidly, and fall at my feet – each one a last flicker and then out. All fades that is outward and all is fortified and grows to the length and breadth of eternity inward. How beautiful is God’s creation but how much more beautiful is His face as our eyes meet when I am humble and seek Him. He avails His presence to me. I am limitless. I am eternal. All because God has built and continues to build a stronghold inside my heart. In His ethereal presence sits my Savior, Jesus. He is the Seed of all life and I thank the Lord for His grace that places me as a co-heir to the eternal inheritance. Praise God on High.

The lights of the night sky are frivolous. They sparkle and deceive us by making us feel small and limited. Have the perspective of eternity through eyes that search our heart where our King sits. There is no deception and the stars flit and dart to darkness.

This moment in time

Looking into the mirror,

Upon whom do my eyes see?

Do I see just a man?

Or an image of godly integrity?

What I see is the image

Of one who ebbs and flows like the tides at the shore.

Living in self-indulgence,

Seeking ever more.

But to Jesus I have pledged,

My life to evade.

This world of frivolity

And reach my perfected image made

I am a pilgrim in this time,

With gifts Divinely imparted.

To be the fruit of joy

From the vine our Father started.

Now into the mirror

I take a closer look to examine what I see.

The unique creation in Christ,

The picture is me.

There is the perfect Law of Liberty,

Written upon my heart.

The sign of an abiding Spirit

Sanctified, set apart

We are knit together – each of us

Believers of God in His way sublime,

I savor this moment,

This moment in time.

from the dust

From the dust there comes a man,

Into his soul God breathes.

It is the first Adam who walks away,

Free choice but with certainty deceived.

This a beginning of a broken heart,

A teardrop upon Mankind,

But God knows man and all time,

Shall not remain apart.

Jesus is the second Adam,

Perfect Word with Man.

He holds in one hand eternity,

The other mine as sure as God planned.

We are Ready

The time is now to seek with willing heart.

His breath of Mercy and Love.

We live fully a life apart,

He leads us from above.

We are obedient, eager, and passionate,

Seeing His mystery revealed each day.

Stepping with an imparted, discerned gait.

Speaking in a spiritually fervent way.

Let the unsure be bold.

All who seek will find.

Trusting we are in His fold.

Our petitions come forth to bind.

We take a moment to listen, another, to do.

We know this cycle sure.

Asking, listening, responding, thanking – true

Our prayers through Living Water pure.

Father we ask through He Who Mediates for us in our place,

We are sanctified through the blood of the Son.

We are reconciled through Your grace,

To Your welcoming arms we run.

The Time is Now to embrace our blessed lives rife with spiritual beauty.

We are here for You , Lord. We are ready.
