4 Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.
Ezekiel 37:4 (KJV)

Divinely led from valley low
Once, fitful of this way to go.
All moments claimed by more than me
Try to wrest them back, I plea!

Elements of ashes and dry bones
fervently deny life.
Why do most walk as these element?
I did. Blindness mired in strife.

Why did I let air be breathed?
Into a soul parched received?
I wonder at times what I did
To be counted even as I hid.

And I pray now for your dry bones
You who believe you know the path.
The Lord, without prejudice, sees your heart.
Where flesh is absent love atones

So, I stand in gaps of gray and dry
Watching bones and ashes pass by
Light come forth and rid these souls
Selfish hearts, stubborn, hidden holes.

For there is Light around to see
Certainly it is blinding now
But Love and heart is set free!
Life from death. sinew to bone.

All can be one glorious day
If those would see the truth, the Way
And I can rest in waning pale
Seeking breath for those who fail.

Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because you, brother, have refreshed the hearts of the Lord’s people.
Philemon 1:7

What do I hear, O Lord?
The voices of many and the ways they afford.
But it brings me strength and movement toward
Growing in Your family in one accord

What do others do, O God?
With a staff and a rod
Within Your kingdom
To those I laud.

What do others see, Father of all?
Obediently forward in their call.
With their eyes ever seeking truth and love.
Joining together, the enemy’s appall

What do others say, Father of Life?
Promoting joy amongst your children rife.
With their hearts in deepening love,
This their weapon – double-edged knife

So, I beg, give me Your word, Father of mine
That direction is heard toward the will of Thine!
That I would be blessed to share your work
As with my loving brethren, You give me that sign.

“Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ”
Romans 5:1 (NKJV)

Empty me Lord,
my mind betrays
filled with thoughts
for intended delays

Empty me Lord,
of the veil of night
that blocks out light
and defers my sight

Empty me Lord,
of this mind so clouded
in skies of gray
seeking is shrouded

Empty me Lord
of barricaded stream
blocking wisdom
cancel this erratic dream

For faith alone shall
bear enough reason
to fill this heart-
mind held with treason

And justly I walk
to see Your eyes
by this faith alone
discard disguise

and peace shall come
evident in certain hour
for by my faith
I rest in Your power.

Words in Season

abs00080

4 “The Lord God has given Me
The tongue of the learned,
That I should know how to speak
A word in season to him who is weary.
He awakens Me morning by morning,
He awakens My ear
To hear as the learned.

5 The Lord God has opened My ear;
And I was not rebellious,
Nor did I turn away.

Isaiah 50:4,5 (NKJV)

O Father Your wisdom is imparted and disseminated through Your children.
We speak words uttered deep from our fortified souls.
And as we awaken in the morning,
Our ears too are awakened, alert, wanting,
To then awaken our desirous tongues for an utterance for this season.

The word is known by the Lord and in His instruction
Light shines and discovers the lost, but the word of our God awakens
All slumbering eyes affected, afflicted, by this season

Tears carve byways through cheeks of despair. Paths hewn through faces looking inward
seeing nothing and relying on something unforeseen in this season

Words of love, of wisdom and peace. Place hearts of darkness into
Light, this season.

We are obedient.
Leaning, inclining to each syllable God may say
Each will grow an oak from an acorn and all
will glorify our Lord in this season.

…and in this time of obedience, light exposes shadows, crevices of darkness die.
But words echo in all places praising God! It is time to call His name
in this season!

We are awakened and
we hear and speak truth forthwith.
and we shall not choose a word or phrase or verse,
For God will take us there in this season.

For His word is appointed for His reason,
And the Lord Almighty will give this word
for us and it shall prosper,
this season.
Amen

O, love

O, Love…
All man surely has seen love –
from mother’s eyes to mourning dove.
Seen with naive, self-reasoned promise,
there is a correct course, it’s only our own strayed, amiss.
For the foundation of mankind
shall defiantly unwind
if he should believe power
should cause true love to cower.
So then in the face of a wielded love,
power thus subdued, love standing above.
For love soundly binds all –
all we aft the Fall.
But as clarity of love’s source causes some dismay
It is written in our heart: love is rooted in Him to Whom we pray.

“Man is a creature cut out for love; thus therefore is the law written in the heart, that it is a law of love. Love is a short and sweet word; and, if that be the fulfilling of the law, surely the yoke of the command is very easy. Love is the rest and satisfaction of the soul; if we walk in this good old way, we shall find rest.” Matthew Henry

home

home is a
Light well lit.
There in my heart
discarding my wit.
placing dreams of gold
and arms of love –
pierced then healed,
my guardian shield
subduing fear I feebly wield.
eyes upon my soul now pure
tis my home i reason, so sure
to where He beckons –
to where dew shant dry
and roots shall pry
deep to Living water.
Beacon of hope.
It is home I go
for He is there
His heart shall provoke
my glowing soul upon this night
Dark bird of prey shall now take flight!
For I shall stay home,
and will surely scare
and rebuke the preying dark bird away
for home with God protected I stay.

Determined

“And I will walk at liberty: for I seek thy precepts”
Psalm 119:45 (KJV)

I hasten to Thee with determined pace
You are righteousness and just.
Wandering among the words You speak
I draw toward my center sanctified trust.

Lingering among words so clean,
Cutting to the core.
Freeing from my arduous past,
Your face clearer than before.

Here I shall walk in liberty,
And I shall seeketh You.
I incline my ear to Your words
Each syllable brand new.

Utterance for all mankind,
Thus penetrates my soul.
From Your mouth, rules for life,
How simple is my role?

Really though, how I labor toward thee
A lot cast by resistant heart.
Soon, with said determined pace,
I stand upright where Thou art.

Now reborn

Watercolor- Rick StassiI call to remembrance my song in the night: I commune with mine own heart: and my spirit made diligent search.
Psalm 77:6 (KJV)

So, what is this song haunting so deep?
Passed melodies I once did reap.
I call upon darkened past
To view a journey, shadow cast.

In this shadow, I see my face,
Sullen eyes, somber pace.
Never enough to fill my soul!
Downtrodden heart, sorrowful role.

Remembrance of obedience lost.
Try to find! I must, I must at all cost.
For what I knew and what I now know,
Shows me why my pace was so slow.

Happiness is kindled straw ablaze,
Resting on time I shall only raze.
“But soon, but soon,” my Lord did say,
Your somber steps shall come my way.

Summer songs, haunting heart
To search and toss so as to part.
Only to find songs will stay
In caverns deep attempt hold sway.

Darkness, light, converge to a point
where He is, the One who God did Anoint.
Now all caverns deep inside,
Searched each day, time to bide.

So, search me Lord, I wait for You
Your diligence mine, O mine so true
A song is heard in echo at morn
A new soul is now reborn.

…and Your Love

…and Your Love

along a path blissfulness be
God in heart His eyes follow me.
ever watching a meandering child
heart now pure but once defiled.
a scent abounds and fills the air
each breath I take Your heartfelt care.
i step, and step again, to new places,
and Your Love follows.

further down the path I go
it is my life which I speak, you must now know.
ageless, joyful, merry, mirth,
all You give is giving worth
each taste I savor so, so sweet
i am fed, heart and Scripture meet.
i continue steps in joyful gait
and Your Love follows.

and days shall come, darkness shall hold
my attention forgetting all I’ve been told:
in Your Light, darkness prevails not,
my attention refocused, O this life, my godly lot.
i feel Your warmth inside, each part
from toes to head, a centered heart
i rush back onto Your path
and Your Love follows.

so days gone and no more to come
a life is not just difference and sum
joyously we see all things You, Lord
thanking each moment that time shall afford.
and I look around to those whom I dearly love
gentle souls in my heart, in head, eternally above.
i come to the place where Celestial doors await
and Your Love is there.
